Dad told me to walk up the stairs on my toes. That it would strengthen my ankles. I still twist them all the time. But my calves are always toned. Mom said not to plaster my hair to my forehead. It's like having a brick tied to your ankle in a 15’ dive tank. To conserve energy, it's easiest to let it pull you down to the very bottom, and come up for air when you absolutely need it. The tank is so deep, and the pressure so heavy that it feels like your lungs may give out. Every time you run out, you ask yourself if it's even worth fighting to the top. What's the point anyways, when you know you'll just have to do it again, and someday, you won't even have the energy to make it up then you'll drown, dying a slow, horrifying death. My mind is like a moth, Beating against an old, dusty light bulb That sways slightly; the only light In a dim space. If you listen, You can hear the soft tink, tink As the moth collides with the bulb Again and again. And if you lean close, You can even hear the faint fluttering of wings; Greyish brown in color, they’re not as exquisite as a butterfly’s, Yet more detailed than you’d think. Navarro’s first discovery as a sailor would be that no one on the ship spoke his language besides the Captain. He couldn’t even properly pronounce his Captain’s name, so he would just refer to him as “Captain” in their tongue, which was the first word he learned in their language. Greetings, fellow Deviant!

I love horses and always have, and I have a rad red roan appaloosa named Ditto -- who takes me for spins around barrels and stuff :D So naturally, I do a lot of horse drawings. In addition to other random drawings. But my people are a horror compared to my horses... so I mostly just draw the 4-leggeds.

I also write poetry now... since Spring '13 when I took a poetry class... Now I plague DeviantArt with my mediocre writing skills. Eh.

And! I crochet. I hate using patterns, so I come up with my own designs. Yeah, that's fun.

In reality, I'm a college student, majoring in music education. I play the vocal chords, guitar, piano, violin, and handbells (in that order) and I want to play the lute and cello.

I never imagined This

Wow, I never imagined I would ever be a good enough artist to consider selling any of my pictures... but the mother of the boy in this picture [link] asked me to make a canvas print of it for her. She wants to buy it! Pay me for it! :0 I was so surprised and honored, I didn't even know what to say at first! Now all my horse friends are asking me to do drawings of them and their horses too. It's really exciting and surreal, even though I know they only love the pictures because it's their own horses in it (and who wouldn't want a painting of their beloved horse?), but it's still so exciting to see a genuine interest in my art, and to see my fr

Living the Dream

I just received an email from the college I auditioned for! They accepted me into their vocal program! I couldn't breathe when I read the email. Now I'm just waiting for the college itself to accept me. But I'm pretty certain I'll get into the school. Hurray! When I was a little kid and someone asked me what I'm going to be when I grow up, I'd say, "I'm going to be the greatest singer in the world!" Well.... I don't really have such high hopes anymore. I just want to be a music educator now. But singing is my focus. I'm living the dream.
